“My recent work continues to explore past themes with an emphasis on sculptural forms and material combinations. Architectural structures such as bridges, arches, staircases and columns are present. I make molds from found and fabricated objects and cast shapes in fine concrete and plaster. The repeated use of these "building blocks" creates a certain rhythm and continuity from piece to piece whether they be free-standing sculpture or two-dimensional collage. The resulting pieces often appear to be scenes from a past civilization… weathered and worn, abraded by time.

In addition to this main body of work, I've conceived several new sculptural pieces directly related to the artwork of my late father, William Christenberry Jr. Before he passed in late 2016, I made some simple forms for him in wood and metal. My hope was that he would take the pieces and finish them in his style with paint, encaustic, and collage. Unfortunately, he was unable to do so due to his worsening Alzheimer's. After his passing, I decided to attempt to finalize these pieces in his honor. The possibilities are exciting, and I hope to continue exploring this new direction.”
